I teach childbirth education in your own home. You have the privacy to ask any questions you may have and I have the opportunity to customize my information to your specific needs. The curriculum I use includes information about pregnancy, labor and birth, interventions, variations, birth preferences, comfort measures, postpartum adjustments, your newborn, newborn care, and breastfeeding basics. Your class also includes a parent book that you can reference any time. I include a few experiments and activities to help reinforce what you learn and can offer more resources for more understanding.
Bengkung Belly Binding

Includes a beautiful wrap
Bengkung belly binding is a traditional Malaysian practice to help the postpartum body heal. The method of wrapping helps bring your abdominal muscles back together, supports your internal organs, assists in good posture, preventing the nursing slouch, and offers the mother an opportunity for self care in the early days of postpartum. I will come to your home 3-4 days after a vaginal birth or once stitches and staples have been removed after a cesarean section to wrap you. I will teach you and any family member who would like how to wrap you. Included is your choice of a beautiful wrap to keep. I ask that you wear a tank top and comfortable clothes to be wrapped in. Our appointment lasts approximately 2 hours. I leave you extra resources and am available 24/6 for any questions or support.
Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding is natural and offers nutrition that can’t be beat for your precious baby. However, nursing doesn’t always come easy. Both you and baby are learning something new together. Breastfeeding is a relationship between you and your baby that takes time, patience and understanding. I will come to your home to assess your baby’s latch. I will listen to your concerns and offer support and practical solutions. I have educated myself in oral ties and will refer you to a qualified pediatric dentist and IBCLC who can further assist you and your sweet baby. While my goal is to help all families have a positive breastfeeding relationship, there are circumstances and situations where formula is needed. Using formula is not a failure on any mother’s part. Sometimes there are just circumstances out of our control that lead to the necessity of formula and that is ok. In these circumstances I will give you options of high quality formula and support you in your feeding journey whatever that may look like.
